Dear Clients of Wayland Animal Clinic,

The coronavirus is a concern we do not take lightly. Our goal is to continue to be an important resource for our community and take care of your pets while minimizing the chance of any disease transmission at our clinic.

The pandemic (and the government’s response to the pandemic)  has necessitated some changes to our policy and procedures. Here’s some changes we’ve made that we hope will improve you and your pet’s experience at Wayland Animal Clinic:

The operational constraints imposed by the pandemic have significantly impacted our schedule.  We sincerely appreciate the kindness and patience our clients have shown during this time. To best meet our goals, we have introduced the following policies:

Urgent / Sick Visits are Priority

We must still prioritize urgent/sick patient visits. If you are unsure if your pet’s issue is urgent please call or email our office and a nurse or doctor will be happy to help with that determination  508-653-1096 or [email protected]

Non-urgent visits and new patient exams will be tentatively booked out 4-6 weeks (this includes annual exams and other well-visits or exams that are not considered urgent).

Rabies Vaccines

Current rabies vaccination is required by state law so we will make our best efforts to ensure these patients take priority in scheduling. If your pet is due for a rabies booster, please contact the office as soon as possible so that we can help find you an appointment.

Stay Home If You Suspect You or a Family Member Are Sick

Please stay home if this has been recommended by your doctor. If you are experiencing any symptoms of concern: fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other cold and flu-like symptoms, please contact your primary care physician immediately! If you have a previously scheduled appointment at our office and are experiencing any of these symptoms please reschedule your appointment for a time when you are well.  Please know that your health and the health of our clients, staff and the greater community is our number one concern.

New Puppies / Kittens

For the time being, we have introduced the following policies for new puppy/kitten appointments:

  • Clients must email us the puppy/kitten’s medical history ASAP to best meet required vaccination schedules
  • We can not currently accommodate breeder requirements that newly adopted pets be seen within a certain number of hours/days
